Synopsis : A retired gangster forges a friendship with a student that puts her life in danger, and forces him to confront some unfinished business before succumbing to cancer. Darrell Jacobs (Brad Blaisdell) is dying. A former gangster who's seen it all, Darrell has chosen to live out his last days in Phoenix, where daily trips to his favorite café afford him a rare sense of peace. Little does Darrell realize that he's caught the eye of Alicia (Suzanne May), an ASU law student and waitress at the café he frequents. When Alicia follows Darrell home, a chance encounter between the two quickly blossoms into a warm friendship. Makanan Tradisional Kaum Sekapan Linut

Setiap suku kaum di Malaysia,mempunyai makanan tradisionalnya yang tersendiri.Begitu juga dengan Suku Kaum Sekapan,memiliki makanan tradisionalnya yang tersendiri.Linut adalah salah satu makanan tradisional masyarakat Sekapan yang dahulunya agak popular dan amat digemari.Kenapa saya berkata begitu kerana,di zaman saya kecil dulu kala,saya dapat melihat hidangan Linut ini dihidangkan hampir setiap hari bagi setiap keluarga suku kaum Sekapan,brbeza dengan hari ini.

Buat masa kini,hidangan taradisional ini mungkin agak jarang dihidangkan berbanding zaman kegemilangannya dulu.Saya sendiri pun agak merindui keenakkan walalau pun kadang kala saya menyediakan hidangan ini secara keseorangan kerana orang rumah saya tidak makan makanan ini kerana orang rumah saya bukan berasal dari suku kaum Sekapan sebaliknya Melayu,Kelantan.Jadi untuk melepaskan keinginan untuk menikmati makanan tradisional yang saya nikmati sejak kecil lagi,terpaksalah saya makan berseorangan,kadang kala menikmatinya dengan anak sulung saya walalau pun dia tak berapa menyukainya.

Namun Hidangan Linut di bandar tidak seenak hidangan Linut di kampung,kerana dibandar kita hanya dapat mendapatkan bahan atenatif lain seperti tepung Ubi Kayu berbanding bahan asalnya daripada Tepung Sagu asli,kerana di bandar hanya ada tepung Ubi saja yang boleh kita perolehi dipasaran.Mungkin Faktor ini juga yang menyebabkan mengapa hidangan linut agak kurang dinikmati pada masa ini baik di kampung mahupun di bandar,kekurangan bahan aslinya.

Hidangan bahan aslinya iaitu tepung sagu asli berbeza dengan hidangan hidangan dari tepung Ubi baik dari segi warna mahupun rasanyan.Hidangan dari tepung sagu asli memiliki warna yang agak lut sinar berbanding denagan hidangan menggunakan tepung Ubi kayu yang agak keputihan,dari segi rasa mungkin tidak memiliki yang perbezaan yang ketara,namun bagi sesetengah orang lama,mereka lebih sukakan hidangan Linut yang diperbuat dari tepung sagu asli.

Hidangan Linut ini mungkin tidak asing lagi bagi penduduk Sabah dan Sarawak tetapi berbeza dengan penduduk di Semenanjung Malaysia.Mereka mungkin menganggap hidangan ini agak pelik,walaupun hakikatnya hidangan ini sungguh enak dinikmati bagi penggemar makanan tradisional ini.Sebenarnya hidangan linut ini dimakan bersama dengan sedikit kuah khas bagi mencecah atau pun mencampurkan hidangan Linut ini bersama dengan kuah tadi.Walaubagaimana pun setiap suku kaum di sarawak memiliki cara yang tersendiri untuk menikmati hidangan ini.
